The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, the adventure of Nala and Kovu

Our childhood movie has a second part, The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, which was released four years after the first one. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the cast team consists of Matthew Broderick (Simba), Neve Campbell (Kiara), Andy Dick (Nuka), Robert Guillaume (Rafiki), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), Moira Kelly (Nala), Jason Marsden (Kovu), Nathan Lane (Timon), Ernie Sabella (Pumbaa) and Suzanne Pleshette (Zira).

The story is about Kiara, the daughter of Simba and Nala, and Kovu, the son of Zira and adopted by Scar. When the young cub manages to escape her two babysitters, Timon and Pumbaa, she ventures out into the forbidden lands. Once there, she comes across Kovu, whom she befriended, not being aware that he is the son of Zira, the enemy of her father. The wife of Scar plans on raising her son to overthrow Simba and take his place as king of the Pride Lands.

Have a look at this animated movie The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride, to find out whether Kiara and Kovu will be able to settle the differences between the two packs, the Outsiders and the Pride Lands. This film has been one of my favourite ones since I was a kid. I really like the song “We Are One”, it is spectacular. The script is well written as well, I can almost feel that Simba is like Mufasa, his father, by the way he is being overprotective of his daughter. Overall, it is a good motion picture, which will be much appreciated by the kids (and some adults).
